How do I find out what font a website uses?+
Install Font Inspector, open a regular web page, and choose Pick text on page. Point at text to see its font family, size, weight, spacing, and colors. Click to keep the inspection open.
Can I identify a font from an image?+
Font Inspector reads live text and its CSS. It cannot identify lettering inside a photograph, flattened image, or canvas. For those, use an image-based font identification service.
Are the font tools free to use?+
Yes. Every tool on this website is free and works without an account or the extension.
Does finding a font mean I can use it?+
Finding a font does not grant a license. Check the font creator’s license before downloading, embedding, or redistributing it. The extension can help you find the source.
Why can’t I inspect every Chrome page?+
Chrome restricts extensions on internal chrome:// pages and the Chrome Web Store. Try a normal website and refresh it after installing the extension.
