What font does Telegram use?

Telegram’s apps follow each platform’s native look, and its website does the same: it asks the operating system for a font and downloads nothing. The page is light and loads fast, at the cost of looking a little different on every device.

Short answer: Telegram’s website uses no web font. All text is set in the system font stack: Segoe UI on Windows, San Francisco on a Mac, Roboto on Android.

Measured at a 1440px wide window on November 5, 2026. Responsive sites use other sizes on smaller screens.

The main font stack in the CSS:

font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, sans-serif;
  • Five weights are in use, 300 to 700, all supplied by the system font, so the Light weight depends on the device having one.
  • The page has no h1 or h2. Feature titles are h3 at 26px.
  • Body text is 14px with a roomy 1.6 line height.

Sites change their type without notice. Font Inspector shows the rendered font, size, weight and spacing of any text on telegram.org or anywhere else, and lists every font on the page. Free, no account.

About the fonts, and whether you can use them

System font stack

The classic stack: -apple-system and BlinkMacSystemFont for Apple devices, then Segoe UI, Roboto, Helvetica Neue and Arial. On our Windows machine it rendered as Segoe UI.

Can you use it? Free to use: copy the stack into your CSS and each device supplies its own font. Nothing to license or download.

How we checked

We opened telegram.org in Chrome on November 5, 2026 and read the computed styles of its visible text: the declared font stack, the font actually rendered, and how much of the page’s text each family sets. That is the same data the Font Inspector extension shows under Fonts on this page. We re-check these pages periodically, and the date above shows the last inspection.
