What font does Coinbase use?
A finance site has to look calm, and Coinbase does it with one voice at three sizes. Each cut is a separate family in the CSS, chosen by role rather than by weight. We were redirected to the Dutch edition, which shares the global design system.
Short answer: Coinbase uses its own family in three optical sizes: Coinbase Display for the 80px headline, Coinbase Sans for subheadings and navigation, and Coinbase Text for paragraphs. All are self-hosted variable fonts.

These are computed values from the live page, which is what the Font Inspector panel shows when you click each element.

The main font stack in the CSS:
font-family: CoinbaseText, -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol";- The 80px headline is regular weight, 400, with a line height of exactly 1.
- Each cut ships as a regular file plus a variable file covering weights 500 to 800.
- Six families are declared in total: Display, Sans, Text, Mono, Condensed and an icon font. Mono and Condensed are not used on the home page.

About the fonts, and whether you can use them
Coinbase Text
The text cut of Coinbase’s corporate sans serif, used for paragraphs and small print.
Can you use it? No. The Coinbase family is proprietary. Inter is a free sans serif with a similar neutral, legible character for text.
On Google Fonts: Inter.
Coinbase Sans
The middle cut, for subheadings, navigation and buttons.
Can you use it? No. Manrope and Inter are free alternatives with the same geometric calm.
Coinbase Display
The display cut, used at regular weight for very large headlines from 44px to 80px.
Can you use it? No. For a large, light geometric headline, Manrope or Outfit at weight 400 come close.

}How we checked
We opened coinbase.com in Chrome on November 5, 2026 and read the computed styles of its visible text: the declared font stack, the font actually rendered, and how much of the page’s text each family sets. That is the same data the Font Inspector extension shows under Fonts on this page. We re-check these pages periodically, and the date above shows the last inspection.
