INSPECTED ON NOVEMBER 5, 2026

What font does Reddit use?

Reddit is text at scale: thousands of titles and comments per visit. The site hands all of it to the operating system’s font and downloads nothing, which keeps the feed fast on any device. We inspected the logged-out home feed.

Short answer: Reddit’s website uses no web font. Post titles, comments and navigation are all set in the system font stack: Segoe UI on Windows, San Francisco on a Mac, Roboto on Android. Reddit’s own typeface, Reddit Sans, is not loaded on the page we inspected.

Measured at a 1707px wide window on November 5, 2026. Responsive sites use other sizes on smaller screens.

The main font stack in the CSS:

font-family: -apple-system, BlinkMacSystemFont, "Segoe UI", Roboto, "Helvetica Neue", Arial, "Apple Color Emoji", "Segoe UI Emoji", "Segoe UI Symbol", sans-serif;
  • Only two weights are used, 400 and 600. Post titles in the feed are 14px Semibold with a touch of negative tracking, -0.003em.
  • Text runs small: 14px for titles and comments, 12px and 10px for metadata.
  • Reddit Sans, the typeface Reddit released with its 2023 rebrand, is published under the SIL Open Font License and is on Google Fonts, but this page does not load it.

About the fonts, and whether you can use them

System font stack

The classic stack: -apple-system and BlinkMacSystemFont for Apple devices, then Segoe UI, Roboto, Helvetica Neue and Arial, with the emoji fonts named explicitly. On our Windows machine it rendered as Segoe UI.

Can you use it? Free to use: copy the stack into your CSS and each device supplies its own font. If you want Reddit’s brand look instead, Reddit Sans is open source and free on Google Fonts.

How we checked

We opened reddit.com in Chrome on November 5, 2026 and read the computed styles of its visible text: the declared font stack, the font actually rendered, and how much of the page’s text each family sets. That is the same data the Font Inspector extension shows under Fonts on this page. We re-check these pages periodically, and the date above shows the last inspection.
