What font does Cursor use?
The AI code editor’s marketing site is a typographic mix: a bespoke sans for the brand voice, a serif for testimonials, a mono for code and the system font inside the embedded editor views.
Short answer: Cursor’s website uses CursorGothic, a custom grotesque loaded through the Next.js font loader, for headlines and text, with Berkeley Mono for code samples. A third of the page is the system font, from product screenshots rendered as live HTML.

Sizes, weights and spacing by role
These are computed values from the live page, which is what the Font Inspector panel shows when you click each element.
| Role | Font | Size | Weight | Line height | Letter spacing |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Headline | CursorGothic | 72px | 400 | 1.1 | -0.03em |
| Subheading | CursorGothic | 22px | 400 | 1.3 | -0.005em |
| Body text | CursorGothic | 16px | 400 | 1.5 | 0.005em |
| Navigation | CursorGothic | 16px | 400 | 1.5 | normal |
| Button | CursorGothic | 14px | 400 | 1.5 | normal |
The main font stack in the CSS:
font-family: CursorGothic, "CursorGothic Fallback", system-ui, "Helvetica Neue", Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;- The 72px headline is regular weight with -0.03em tracking. The site never goes bolder than 500.
- Letter spacing tightens as text grows: 0.005em at 16px, -0.005em at 22px, -0.03em at 72px.
- Lato shows up on a few percent of the text, inside one embedded component.

About the fonts, and whether you can use them
CursorGothic
Cursor’s own grotesque, used at regular weight even for the 72px headline. The hashed file names and the CursorGothic Fallback alias are what next/font generates.
Can you use it? No. CursorGothic is proprietary. Inter and Geist are free grotesques with the same restrained character, and both are designed for interfaces.
System font stack
The editor screenshots on the page are real HTML, and they use the operating system’s interface font, as the editor itself does.
Can you use it? Free to use: name system-ui in your CSS and each device supplies its own font.
EB Garamond
Georg Duffner’s open source revival of Claude Garamont’s types, used for customer quotes.
Can you use it? Yes. EB Garamond is free under the SIL Open Font License, on Google Fonts.
On Google Fonts: EB Garamond.
Berkeley Mono
A monospaced typeface from Berkeley Graphics, used for code in the demos.
Can you use it? Berkeley Mono is a commercial font. JetBrains Mono and Geist Mono are free alternatives for code.
On Google Fonts: JetBrains Mono, Geist Mono.
Finding a font does not license it. More in how to get a font you found, legally.

}How we checked
We opened cursor.com in Chrome on November 5, 2026 and read the computed styles of its visible text: the declared font stack, the font actually rendered, and how much of the page’s text each family sets. That is the same data the Font Inspector extension shows under Fonts on this page. We re-check these pages periodically, and the date above shows the last inspection.
